6. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Important Notice About Advertising

StorEvo uses Google AdMob to display advertisements within the application. This section provides detailed information about how AdMob operates and what data it may collect.

How AdMob Works

Google AdMob is a mobile advertising platform operated by Google LLC. It enables us to display advertisements to help keep StorEvo free or low-cost for users. AdMob may collect and use certain information to deliver relevant advertisements and measure their effectiveness.

Information Collected by AdMob

Google AdMob may collect the following types of information:

  • Advertising ID: A unique identifier assigned to your device for advertising purposes, which can be reset by you at any time
  • Device Identifiers: Hardware model, operating system, and device configuration
  • IP Address: Used to determine approximate geographic location and to deliver relevant ads
  • App Interaction Data: Information about how you interact with advertisements displayed within StorEvo
  • Cookie and Similar Technologies: AdMob uses cookies and similar technologies to deliver and manage advertisements

Personalized vs. Non-Personalized Ads

Depending on your consent preferences and applicable laws in your region, advertisements in StorEvo may be:

  • Personalized: Ads are tailored to your interests based on your advertising ID, app usage patterns, and other data collected by Google. This may include ads based on your activity on other apps and websites.
  • Non-Personalized: Ads are not based on your user profile. These ads may still be contextually relevant (based on the app you are using) but will not be targeted based on your behavior or interests.

Users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and other regions with applicable regulations may be shown non-personalized ads by default unless they have consented to personalized advertising.

Your Ad Choices

  • You can reset or opt out of your Advertising ID through your device settings at any time
  • On Android, you can manage ad personalization in Settings > Google > Ads
  • You can review Google's advertising policies and privacy practices at: https://policies.google.com/privacy

By using StorEvo, you acknowledge and agree to the collection and use of information by Google AdMob as described above. For more information about how Google handles data, please review Google's Privacy Policy.

7. Data Storage

Local-First Architecture

StorEvo is designed with a local-first approach. Your business data — including products, inventory, sales records, customer information, supplier details, expenses, and all other business records — is stored locally on your device using SQLite, a secure and widely-trusted embedded database.

Key points about data storage:

  • Primary Storage: All business data is stored in an SQLite database on your device's local storage. This data does not leave your device unless you explicitly choose to export it or enable cloud backup.
  • Export & Backup: You may choose to export your data (e.g., generating reports, creating backups) or enable cloud synchronization. These actions are initiated by you and are entirely optional.
  • Cloud Backup: If you enable the cloud backup feature, your data may be transmitted to and stored on our servers to enable synchronization across devices. This feature is optional and can be disabled at any time through the application settings.
  • Receipt Generation: The application may generate receipt files on your device for printing purposes. These files are stored temporarily on your device.

We do not have access to your locally-stored business data unless you choose to share it with us for support purposes or enable cloud synchronization.

8. Data Sharing

We value your privacy and do not sell your personal information or business data to third parties. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Google AdMob: Advertising-related data (Advertising ID, device identifiers, IP address, and app interaction data) is shared with Google as described in Section 6.
  • Service Providers: We may share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the application, conducting our business, or providing services to you, provided that those parties agree to keep this information confidential.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the same privacy protections.
  • With Your Consent: We may share your information for any other purpose with your explicit consent.

We do not share your locally-stored business data with any third parties unless you explicitly choose to do so (e.g., by exporting data or enabling cloud backup).

9. Data Security

We take the security of your information seriously and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect it. These measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit using secure communication protocols (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Secure password hashing for account credentials
  • Local SQLite database storage on your device with no external access by default
  • Regular security assessments and updates
  • Access controls and authentication mechanisms for account access

While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data, but we are committed to protecting it to the best of our ability.

10. User Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: You can access and review your account information and business data at any time through the application.
  • Correction: You can update or correct your account information through the application settings.
  • Deletion: You can delete your account and associated data by contacting us. Locally-stored data can be deleted by uninstalling the application or clearing the application data through your device settings.
  • Export: You can export your business data at any time through the application's export features.
  • Opt-Out of Advertising: You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings (see Section 6).
  • Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to data portability, the right to restrict processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

If you are located in California, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt-out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

11. Data Retention

We retain your information for different periods depending on the type of data and how it is used:

  • Account Information: Retained for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the application. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your account information within 30 days.
  • Local Business Data: Stored on your device and retained for as long as you use the application. This data is under your control and can be deleted at any time.
  • Cloud Backup Data: If you enable cloud backup, your data is retained on our servers for as long as you maintain the backup feature. You can disable cloud backup and request deletion of backed-up data at any time.
  • Advertising Data: Retained by Google according to Google's own data retention policies. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details.
  • Log Data: Automatically collected log data is retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes, after which it is deleted.

12. Children's Privacy

StorEvo is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers and systems.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address below so that we can take appropriate action.

13. International Users

StorEvo is operated from servers that may be located in various countries. If you access StorEvo from outside the country where our servers are located, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in a country that may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

By using StorEvo, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries other than your own. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure that your personal information remains protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we ensure that any transfer of personal data is subject to appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other approved mechanisms for international data transfers.

14. Third-Party Services

StorEvo may contain links to or integrate with third-party services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through StorEvo.

  • Google AdMob: Used for displaying advertisements within the application. AdMob collects information as described in Section 6. See Google's Privacy Policy.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party services. Your interactions with these services are governed by their own privacy policies.
